“Binaural beats in the Delta (1 to 4 Hz) range have been associated with deep sleep and relaxation and that is exactly what we have produced for you here.”
All the way at the bottom of the spectrum of brain waves — below theta waves — are the low, deep, slow delta waves. Both delta waves and theta waves occur when you’re asleep, but delta waves are the waves that dominate when you’re in a period of deep, restorative sleep.
There are 3 stages our brains reach before reaching REM sleep. Delta waves are associated with the deep sleep stages, 3 and REM. During stage 3, less than half of brain waves consist of delta waves, while more than half of brain activity consists of delta waves during REM sleep.
